Poetry Publisher is a small, self-publishing company based in Pontypridd, south Wales. Founded in 2014, as Publish & Print, we have many years of experience in book publishing and offer a friendly, personal service.

Are you a poet who wants to get into print? Then we can help you achieve this.
Our self-publishing services are amongst the lowest cost anywhere on the market, yet we still pride ourselves on producing professional products for our clients.
At the moment, we produce paperbacks, e-books (for Amazon Kindle) and bespoke book covers.
Since January 2026, we decided to concentrate on poetry rather than self-publish all genres of books (as we did with Publish & Print), and so we have changed our domain/website name/company name, and are now only helping writers self-publish poetry titles.

Poetry Publisher was set up by Dave Lewis, a writer based in south Wales. He has self-published over 20 books in his writing career and will probably continue to do so even if he gets a publishing contract with a traditional publishing house, simply because of the ease, speed and complete control over the editorial process offered by self-publishing.
In 2007, he set up and organised the first international Welsh Poetry Competition. A competition aimed at encouraging and fostering the wealth of creative writing talent that we know exists in Wales but currently languishes in the doldrums. Dave has also published three anthologies of winners, containing 300 poems.
His main reason for setting up Poetry Publisher was to give other poets a chance of publication in an ever-competitive marketplace.
Like a lot of new authors, Dave experienced the great difficulty a first-time writer has in trying to get either a literary agent or a publishing company to even read the manuscript of an unknown, let alone get it published!
So, rather than wait months and months for the inevitable rejection slip, he decided to self-publish his first book. Layer Cake, a collection of poems, sold over 200 copies locally, simply by word of mouth.
Since then, Dave has gone from strength to strength and has now published many books, including three very successful crime thrillers, that have sold in their thousands.
In 2020, he launched the Poetry Book Awards, an international contest that looks to reward the best poets from small, independent presses.
Libraries.Wales announced their ‘Author of the Month’ for May 2023, and Dave finds himself alongside Max Boyce, Eloise Williams, Dai Smith, Rae Howells, Rob Gittins, Rachel Tresize and many other modern Welsh writers.
